v.1
One cross, three nails, and a world of sin
Are what He counted that day.
A cat-of-nine-tails, one crown of thorns,
The price He reckoned to pay.
And as He gazed upon the ones who should have died,
His lips formed the word “forgive”.
And then I feared, as the spear pierced His side,
This man had died that I might live.
v.2
One stone, one legion, the gates of hell,
Could not keep Jesus in the tomb.
He came back to His followers,
He met us in the upper room.
And as He gazed upon the ones who thought He died
I wept and fell upon my knees
And as I saw and touched His hands His feet His side
I heard Him speak the word “believe”
